Description: Early 1960's Lionel Postwar 246 Scout Locomotive and 244T Tender. Selling as-is.This loco - tender pair were matched in several sets sold by Lionel in the early 1960's Loco and tender are in Excellent condition with only very minor marks on both. (Have to look hard to find any)Loco tested (see video) - operates perfectly as intended. Power on - Foward - Power off - Power on - Reverse - Power off - Power on - Forward etc. This locomotive did not have neutral; and it was not intended for the switch on the top of the loco to have to be moved to change direction. The switch is to maintain one direction should the operator not want direction change when the power is removed and restarted.Light bulb was replaced and works.Has magnet for magne-traction.No broken running lights nor broken cow catcher steps. No cracks noted.Tender has working coupler and rear metal step.Overall, a great looing and operating 60+ year old locomotive and tender pair.The 246 Locomotive box is original, included and in very nice condition.
