Note that this is the last film directed by unsung female director Lois Weber who was the first regular female director in Hollywood in the 1910s, earning as much as D.W. Griffith while shooting A-List blockbusters, but her career started to falter in the 1920s and she died almost forgotten in 1939 at age 60. Also note this film should not be confused with the famous James Cagney 1949 crime classic of the same title.
