Comments: This Lot of 3 ~ 1939 Golden Gate So-Called Dollars is in really nice original condition. The fields have minor abrasions through the gilt on both sides, and slight rub on the high points, all due to normal handling and storage. One has a couple of tiny corrosion spots. They have not been cleaned and all have nice original color and lots of luster. According to Wikipedia: The Golden Gate International Exposition (1939 and 1940), was held at San Francisco’s Treasure Island, was a World’s Fair celebrating the city's two newly built bridges. The “San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge” opened in 1936 and the “Golden Gate Bridge” in 1937. The exposition opened from February 18, 1939, through October 29, 1939, and from May 25, 1940, through September 29, 1940. These 3 So-Called Petroleum Dollars will make a great addition to either your So-Called Dollar, Golden Gate International Exposition, World’s Fair, petroliana or vintage medal collection. ================================================================= Shop with confidence, we give a 30-day return privilege.
