Description: Festive 22 ct. Gold Plated real IVY ( Hedera ) leaf necklace. This lovely leaf is 3.5 cm long and 3.25 cm wide. It has a lovely natural striking 'hand' shape with strong definition around the edge. The plating is strong but fine revealing all the veins and nuances of the leaf inside. The 22 ct gold plated chain with gold plated safety catch is 67 cm long, is strong and very suited to the style of this piece. The total drop of the necklace in 37cm. As each piece of jewellery contains a real leaf, it is unique. A perfect Christmas gift for lovers of the natural world. This lovely little Ivy leaf necklace would be very suitable for a child. It was made by my father John Griffin who was a craftsman electroplater. It comes with a card describing the process used to create this piece, mounted on black card and the Latin name. A gorgeous everlasting gift. In the Celtic Tree Alphabet the Ivy is represented by the letter G for Gort. The Ivy symbolises Self-reflection, Patience, Lasting Deep Commitments, Fidelity, Relationships and Marriage, thus it is very suitable for Handfasting Ceremonies.
