Description: Known for his colorful, folkloric batik images celebrating the beauty and tradition of Jewish life , contemporary Israeli artist Amos Amit's ( b. 1945) works grace museums, galleries and homes throughout the world. This joyous depiction of a Simchat Torah celebration is one of a series of pieces Amit created portraying the rituals and camaraderie of the Jewish holiday cycle. The striking image, originally done in batik, has been reproduced in a limited edition format ( it is number 247 out of 500).
