Description: A Rare, Antique, soft paste porcelain, double handled, Majolica, Villeroy & Boch Soup Tureen or Punch Bowl. Origin of the rare antique Tureen / Bowl is Mettlach Germany Ca 1883- 1912.Bowl features an old world transfer ware scenes of musicians on one side & dancing couples on the other side of bowl. The scenes are showcased by raised twisted grape vines & ornate columns. The handles carry on this lovely theme around the bowl.The bowl measures 15" across (outside handle to outside handle) x 9" tall x 9" deep. Depth of inside of bowl is 6 1/2". The exquisite bowl is in very good condition for age & use. There are no chips breaks or repairs. The only condition concerns are as follows: The bowl does have some small heat / stress lines (5) and some minor crazing on bottom.. The last few pictures show this. Due to the age & use of this item these condition are very typical. A beautiful piece to decorate you're holiday table, or display in your home, office, store, shop, or " Old World Restaurant " a very unique treasure ! All reasonable offers will be entertained.
