MANTUA DEVIL 1/8 Competition Off Road Special 2 Diff Model 4x4 #22197 "Vintage"

This is the one that You "Elite" Off Road Collectors have been waiting for...A "New in Box" Vintage Mantua Model (Mantua Italy) "DEVIL" 1/8 Scale Competition Off Road "Special" 2 Differential Model 4x4, Part #22197. These were imported into the U.S. by Shamrock Competition Imports (at the time, also the OPS Importer) about 35 Years ago... Shamrock has been out of business for at least 25 Years... This is the original (Second) series that does NOT includes the "Tube Buggy" body as shown on the outer box (Body selection was left to the discretion of the builder), and the zig-zag tread tires (as depicted). This is the two differential model (#22197) and does include both front and rear differentials, and also comes with the round knob style tread on the larger wheels and tires. Remember, NO Engine, Header or Pipe included in kit!! These need to be purchased separately for Your preference of Engine!! I purchased one of these kits, and a 3.5 rear exhaust OPS engine, header, and pipe from Shamrock. I could not believe the quality of the kit... Everything "Top Notch" and it was a Joy to build! It took some time to get the engine dialed in, but it was really worth the effort! The power was unreal! It would "Boil" the tires about any time You would nail the throttle! I converted that DEVIL to use a '70 Camaro body with "Cut Out" wheel wellsto resemble a "Dirt Track Car"! In the meantime, I collected many spare Mantua Devil Parts (still have a lot of the "consumable" pieces NEW in Packages), and several other DEVIL kits...This is one of those kits. I also have the First series DEVIL kit (the one with the Zig-Zag Tread on the smaller wheels and tires)... That kit does include the Tube Frame Body (like is is pictured on the box). Remember, this kit has been out of production for about 30 years! It is quite large and heavy! I think this would make a "Super" Christmas Gift for that high end vintage R/C collector. Remember, this is not a toy... It is a serious Vintage 1/8 Scale Off Road Vehicle!
