Labor is not covered under the warranty. Transmissions sold by Norb’s are Marked, Tagged and Stamped for identification. Warranty on this transmission assembly DOES NOT INCLUDE seals of any kind located anywhere on the transmission. Failure to inspect and/or replace seals is done at installer’s risk! Norb’s IS NOT RESPONSIBLE for electrical problems. Check and compare electrical components prior to installation. Electrical components are not covered under warranty. Reprogramming or relearning procedures are part of many OEM repair processes; this must be considered before a part is considered defective. *Torque Converter Installation Procedures* *Prior to reinstalling the torque converter always inspect to make sure the collar and pump drive shaft is still in place, always compare with original unit to make sure all necessary pieces are still intact and the torque converter bushing and front pump seal is in good condition after transporting of the transmission. *ALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS MUST HAVE TORQUE CONVERTER PROPERLY ALIGNED AND FULLY SEATED. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY AND WARRANTY WILL BE VOID. To fully seat most torque converters it is necessary to spin the torque converter by hand while slightly pushing upward and inward at the same time, typically there are two notches the torque converter must slide into, it must be in the second notch to be fully seated into the transmission. Never force the transmission and engine together. The flex plate/flywheel should not come in contact with the torque converter when bolting the transmission and engine together, when properly installed the torque converter should move towards the flex plate when attaching the torque converter bolts. Filters may have been removed during inspection. Prior to installing a serviceable transmission a new filter must be installed. Electronic Transmissions Must check for any computer updates and TSB (Technical Service Bulletins) Scan for codes before you remove the unit and fix any service codes stored in the computer Reset the adaptive learn on the computer (failure to do so can result in poor shifting and transmission damage) Check electrical system (battery, alternator, grounds, electrical connectors, and wiring) Clean the MAF (Mass Air Flow Sensor) a bad or dirty MAF can cause transmission issues without setting codes. All Transmissions Inspect and replace all external seals and gaskets (front pump seals, drive line seals, pan gaskets, ect.) Replace filter – Transmission pans have been removed for draining and inspecting, filters may be removed. Flush coolers and lines with a hot flush machine, or replace them – must have proper Flow and Volume Use the correct factory recommend fluids and refill to factory recommended levels Watch for units with Separate Transmission and Differential fluid (Both will be Drained and need to be refilled) Some transmission and transfer cases share fluids make sure contaminated fluid is not passed between components Inspect cooling lines and fittings for damage Ensure ALL Dowel Pins are in place Inspect flywheel for cracks Clean and grease crank pilot Inspect mounts for damage or wear Inspect yokes and axle shafts ends that go into the transmission for damage or wear Transmission with drive shafts – Inspect drive shafts for damage and verify u-joints move freely, #1 cause of cracked transmission cases are bad u-joint or unbalanced drive shafts This is a list of the most common problems that cause transmission failures. Ensure all systems and system components are operating properly prior to operating the transmission. --> SHIPPING NOTES ABOUT US HELP If you have a question about a part please contact us BEFORE purchasing.
