Description: This is a nice, original March 25, 1933 issue of The Literary Digest. The Literary Digest was an American general interest weekly magazine published by Funk & Wagnalls. Founded by Isaac Kaufmann Funk in 1890, it eventually merged with two similar weekly magazines, Public Opinion and Current Opinion. The magazine gained notoriety when its poll of the 1936 United States presidential election substantially missed the final result, predicting a victory for Republican candidate Alf Landon against Democratic incumbent Franklin D. Roosevelt. On election day, Roosevelt defeated Landon in a landslide victory. The inaccuracy of the poll critically damaged the magazine's reputation, and it ceased publication in 1938. Measures 8.5" x 12" and contains 39. There is some mild surface discoloration and some wear at edges, mailing sticker on front . Please study photos and Email with any question. A great addition to any collection!
