Description: A March to Eisenhower political sheet music This is an original piece of sheet music which was published in 1953 by Chappell & Co., as a Souvenir of Inauguration 1953, celebrating the elevation of Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower to the Presidency of the United States. It shows the U.S. flag and a drawing of the White House on the cover, along with a photo of the World War II hero who was beloved by the nickname Ike. The music for this march song was written by Jewel Frank, and the words were written by Hiram Hirsch. This piece of sheet music is in Very Fine condition. The letter "R" in its title, as the end of Eisenhower's name, has a slight bit of fading, but otherwise the piece is in flawless condition, appearing to have never been used at all. The lyrics say: From Abilene to good old West Point, Onward to France, Ike struck like a wall of fire, In ev'ry advance. Now that Ike is in the White House, We can gladly say, It's a great day for the U.S.A. It's a great, great day. Let's all salute Ike Eisenhower, Let's wish him well, Ike took our hearts by storm, He is really swell. In the White House like the army, Ike will do his bit, For you and me and all the people, He'll make a hit. _gsrx_vers_1680 (GS 9.8.3 (1680))
