Description: This is an authentic PA Dutch redware slipware pie plate signed by artist Marilyn Stoltzfus of Bird-In-Hand PA. Underside is a natural terra cotta matte finish with ivory paint. Top is painted ivory with the patterns carved into the clay then finished with a high gloss glaze. 10.2" in diameter and 1.5" deep excellent used condition with no chips or cracks. never used for baking This is a lovely shoo fly pie plate from the Lancaster, PA Amish area in 1985. The artist is Marilyn Stoltzfus (now White). Crafted at her shop in Bird in Hand, PA. She always hand signs her works and makes a little comment about the weather on the day the piece is finished. If you don't already know it, the Distelfink is the German bird of happiness and the tulip design symbolizes love. I hope you will consider owning this authentic Pennsylvania Dutch pottery.
