This very hard to find toy, The Smitty Scooter tin windup is a whimsical toy who represents the young office boy “Smitty” who was a comic character created by Walter Berndt. The back of the scooter says: Licensed by Famous Artists Syndicate MARX Chicago USA. Smitty could be removed from his scooter as his foot will slide into the slot on the scooter. He rolls in a large circle when wound up and put on a smooth floor. There is some small areas of oxidation where he slides into the holding slot.
