THE MARYLAND PLATE This unique plate was made exclusively for the Stieff Company by Coalport. LIMITED EDITION OF ONLY 1000 PLATES This plate was made for the Stieff Company which was a famous Sterling Silver Company in Baltimore, which made elegant silver and pewter from 1892 - 1979. This vintage plate has a picture in the center of the US Constellation. Surrounding the Constellation are pictures of several historical Maryland landmarks. The company that made the plate was Coalport. Coalport was a company in England that produced fine bone china. The Coalport Company was established by John Rose in 1795. It is now part of the Wedgewood group. The Plate measures 10 1/2" in diameter. The background is cream Bone China and the printing is red. It is quite distinguished looking.
