Description: Memory Dynamics Memory: Your Key to a Rewarding Education Self-published, 1986. By Hendrik Hanegraaff. Covers has light scuffing, smudging; sticker to back cover. Interior is unmarked. 110-page study-aid book by Hendrik (Hank) Hanegraaff on how to memorize and remember things for tests and academic success. This used to be for sale through the Christian Research Institute, but I can’t find it for sale anywhere anymore. His Memory Dynamics method originally was developed as a way to help develop and spread strategies and methods for Christian evangelism. Hendrik "Hank" Hanegraaff (born 1950), also known as the "Bible Answer Man", is an American Christian author and radio talk-show host. Formerly an evangelical Protestant, he joined the Eastern Orthodox Church in 2017. He is an outspoken figure within the Christian countercult movement, where he has established a reputation for his critiques of non-Christian religions, new religious movements, and cults, as well as heresy in Christianity. He is also an apologist on doctrinal and cultural issues. (Source: Wikipedia) Hanegraaff is president and chairman of the board of the North Carolina–based Christian Research Institute (CRI). He is also host of the nationally syndicated Bible Answer Man broadcast as well as the Hank Unplugged podcast. What makes this title significant is that Hanegraaff at one time was accused of plagiarizing the material for Memory Dynamics, according to materials on the CRI web site. The organization said that in an August 2004 editorial in the Christian Sentinel, Bill Alnor wrote: “Most of the plagiarism allegations lodged against Hanegraaff stem from three of his books that he wrote prior to his takeover of CRI. They were Memory Dynamics, Memory: Your Key to a Rewarding Education and Personal Witness Training, published by Hanegraaff’s own organization, Memory Dynamics, Inc. They have since been reissued and have been for sale, both by CRI and by Hanegraaff personally. … an anonymous Internet publication titled “On the Edge” in 1996, demonstrated that Hanegraaff’s memorization concepts in the book were largely taken from two classic books on memorization techniques, The Roth Memory Course by David M. Roth, which was originally issued in 1918, and The Memory Book by Harry Lorayne and Jerry Lucas (1974).…” I might assume that this controvery eventually led to this title being taken off the market, but one should never assume? There are just not copies of this title that I can find anywhere. An interesting mystery, at any rate.
