Description: Mexico to USA Cover 10 cent 1937 Sheaffer Letterhead to Ft. Madison, Iowa I am going through some of my late grandfather's possessions, and he has some interesting postage stamps and envelopes. Grandpa lived in Ft. Madison, Iowa, where Sheaffer Pen Company was and still is headquartered. At the time, fine pens like theirs were often sold in jewelry stores, so Grandpa has envelopes from lots of jewelers, bookstores and stationers around the world that must have once held payments or orders. This posted envelope was slit at the top and right edge with a letter opener to remove contents. Envelope is from Sheaffer's stationery, but has a Mexican stamp and postmark on it. Perhaps a Sheaffer salesman came to Mexico and mailed correspondence home, or perhaps left envelopes for payment or orders to be sent in. Envelope is addressed to W.A. Sheaffer Pen Company in Fort Madison, Iowa. 10 cent stamp is clear and in nice condition. Normal handling wear. Postmark is faint, and I cannot read the date, but all of the other letters I have in this collection are from 1937, except for a few from 1936. I will ship as soon as I receive payment.
