For it to be effective leave the bag in the freezer for at least 2 hours before using. They make good ice packs because they conform to the shape that you need, giving you the ability to wrap the bag around an ankle or a wrist, or conforming to the shape of the forehead. Caution: A flax seed heating pad cannot be washed, and flaxseed bags should not be wet at all.
