Dust jacket has rubbing & wear along edges with small tears & a bit of loss at corners; 2 tears along top rear edge; soiling & toning to rear panels & along edges; previous owner's name to front flap. DJ comes protected by new, archival cover. Showing its age a bit, but still a solid copy of the first printing of Herlihy's novel about the naive Texan Joe Buck among the hustlers on the dark underside of America.
