Description: An original copper engraved, antique map of MONMOUTHSHIRE by Robert Morden. The map was first published in 1695 to illustrate Camden's Britannia. This map is from the 1722 edition, identified by the horse-in-circle watermark. The map is unframed, unmounted and uncoloured as published. It has a printed area of 420x350mm; is printed on thick paper; and has good margins. The map features an ornate title cartouche, three mileage scales, graduations of latitude and longitude in the borders and the boundaries and names of hundreds. This is a good dark impression; clean; and in excellent condition.
