Description: These wonderful naturalistic aesthetic movement sugar or olive tongs are 4 3/4" long and weigh 31 grams. The tongs are made to resemble branches or twigs from a tree, with two twigs that overlap at the end of the tongs and then go down each side. There is an applied leaf at the bend. These "twigs" have a naturalistic bark finish, and the tong's tines look like tree roots. They are marked for sterling and 71, with perhaps a symbol or fancy letter as well but this last stamp I can't make out. These seem most likely to have been made by Gorham.
