Scarce 19th century atlas of the human nervous system. The author was a medical doctor surgeon, anatomist and authority on mammals at this time Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. Binding well age worn but still appealing, covers detached and well mottled/ discolored and worn, no spine cloth, most pages loosened or detached. Poor physical condition but a scarce work in any condition. Text block paper is age toned as typical, plates with splitting along the fold lines, some corner damp staining throughout text block plates. This is a much used antique book which has been extensively handled over the past many decades. Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
