(Or other known people's estates.) We pass along whatever info was given to us at the time, and/or whatever we can confirm through our own research. Used Jewelry Most people forget that jewelry requires periodic maintenance. Even the highest quality stuff can't look pretty forever without some effort. When purchasing a pre-owned piece, it is safest to assume it has been neglected. We always recommend taking your purchase to a local jeweler for a check-up. They can straighten/ tighten/ repair/ replace as needed, and can often buff out surface scratches. All in addition to giving it a professional cleaning. What you get back often looks brand new! Some places won't even charge you for simple stuff, just so they can establish a relationship with you. If there is a charge it is usually minimal. Well worth it to keep your jewelry in the best shape possible for the long haul! . 6. Final Thought We do realize that there will always be people who would rather hide behind/ use & abuse eBay's buyer- friendly policies.
