This model inherits the popular 1960s series, with an atmospheric wine-colored body and a thick white large pickguard with Gibson hot stamping. The body is all solid wood, with a Sitka spruce top and mahogany sides/back, the standard J-45 specs. It has scalloped X bracing and a double ring rosette. The Gibson scale mahogany neck has an adjustable saddle and a slightly thinner round profile than the 50s Original, with a nut width of 1.69" (42.8mm). The pegs are of the triple Kluson type, and the pickup is not installed. The nitrocellulose lacquer finish (gloss) and the dovetail neck joint with glue are familiar specifications.
