Description: New Gitzo GT3542L Mountaineer Tripod Series-3, 4-Section, Carbon Fiber Long version Registered with Gitzo Extended warranty until Oct. 15, 2029 MSRP $1411 * * * * * This Gitzo tripod was one of a number of tripods and accessories that were all procured brand new to set up a lab for some critical measurements. The project did not secure funding, so the lab is being dismantled and all the gear is being sold. This tripod was bought brand new in October 2022 and registered with Gitzo for the extended warranty, which runs until October 2029. The tripod legs have a faux-leather wrap (cost $25) on them which serve as insulators against electrostatic shock, and also make the tripod more comfortable to handle in cold weather. The tripod has an oversized 67mm apex which makes it more suitable for larger ball heads and gear heads with up to 70mm base. The tripod was tested with different ball heads and geared heads for configuration, but has never been used for any real work. It has a ring drawn with a Sharpie on the top segment of each leg to quickly set it up to eye level for most users. Tripod comes with its original box, tag, Gitzo cloth bag, and the little plastic bag with the booklets and Gitzo hex wrench. This is essentially a new tripod with the leg wraps added on.
