Terrain: Piste, small to large freestyle obstacles, street Riding style: All-mountain freestyle Riding ability: Advanced to expert Developed by and for K2 snowboard pro Jake Kuzyk, the K2 Medium is the modern version of a classic twin tip camber. This workhorse is an all-mountain freestyle snowboard and was designed for advanced riders up to pros who focus on side hits, park and street riding. The tail and nose are classically rounded, complemented by a longer effective edge to reduce swing weight. The long edge ensures that a 155 cm board feels more like a 152 cm board. In principle, this is cheating, making the board very easy to maneuver. The Tri-Blend BAP Core is wrapped in triaxial fiberglass which is topped by our Carbon DarkWeb™ and our Ollie Bar™, which provides extra pop for ollies over anything you find, and also enables lightning-fast edge changes. The graphic was created by none other than contemporary art star and professional skateboarder Nick Jensen, who calls the English island his home. We made a statue of Jake's body out of plaster and assembled it vertically, piece by piece. Nick sent us a large painting from London to Vancouver, British Columbia (Jake's home), and we photographed the statue in front of the painting to print it on the base of the medium, and we used a section of Nick's work for the graphic on the top sheet. The end result is an absolute weapon of a freestyle board with a unique aesthetic that works in the park, on the street and in any terrain a ski resort has to offer.
