Not sure about compatibility of MK1 or any other grinders. It's made by the renowned SSP Grinding Solution. It's a new set. Factory dialed in. Purchased brand new for over $400 after tax and shipping. This set to me works best for brewed coffee with extremely uniform grinding size. Comparing to (e.g.) Comandante C40 MK4, grinding by this set of burrs will give minimum amount of small particles, which reduces bitter taste greatly. It will work for some of espresso, but not all beans are compatible. In general, it's preferred to have median or light roasted beans for espresso.Let me know if you have other questions.
