Description: This is a two map set which shows where everyone lived in the Towns of Newtown and Sandy Hook, Fairfield County, Connecticut in 1867 and were reproduced on fine natural color parchment They're 11"x 17" and suitable to fit a standard size frame or can be matted to fit a larger museum quality mat. The pictures provided only show portions of the actual maps! Please contact me with any questions! Contained on the maps are finely detailed locations of the homeowners of Newtown, Sandy Hook, Dodgingtown, Hawleyville, Botsford, Hattertown, Berkshire and Pootatuck. The first map (first 2 pictures) shows the entire town of Newtown and the second map (3rd & 4th Pictures) shows the village and or central business area of Newtown and also contains 2 inset maps of Sandy Hook and Pootatuck (Rocky Glen). There are also a business directory for each map. It's hard to make out the specifics from my poor picture, however it is indeed crystal clear on the actual maps! Some of the surnames which are clearly printed are Ferris, Botsford, Sanford, Baldwin, Banks, Harris, Warner, Skidmore, Fairchild, Glover, Hudson and so many more that it's impossible to list! Also indicated on the maps are schools, streets, railroads and rivers/streams. This two map matching set would indeed make quite a conversation piece as well as an excellent gift for that person who has everything! What a great genealogical treasure to be able to locate the homes of one or more of your ancestors! Multiple purchases can be combined for one shipping charge!
