Description: This is a stunning sterling silver mounted deer hoof taxidermy inkwell dating to 1916. Typical of the period, wealthy patrons would have these hunting trophies mounted in this fashion as a perpetual desk accessory. The sterling silver is clearly hallmarked and an ornate silver hallmarked curled stand compliments the back. An inscription on the outside lid commemorates the location and year. A very high quality piece in good condition with light signs of wear. A removable glass liner is missing but could be replaced. Please review photos for further assessment.
