Description: This large Art Deco style Niloak vase is glazed in a muted mauve with a very light blue overspray called “Ozark Dawn II” developed by ceramist Howard Lewis, who worked for Niloak between 1932-1934. The vase, which is approximately 14 inches tall and 14 inches at its widest point, is marked “NILOAK” on the bottom and is in excellent condition. Based on our reading of page 50 of David Edwin Gifford’s book , Collector’s Encyclopedia of Niloak, Second Edition, we believe this vase was probably made between 1939 and 1947. There are no repairs, cracks, chips, hairlines or any other damage that we can see. Please take a look at the accompanying photographs for a complete picture of this imposing deco style vase.
