Description: Northern Electric 233 3-Slot Pay Phone - Refurbished and Modified Northern Electric 233 3-Slot Pay Phone - Refurbished and Modified Northern Electric 233 3-Slot Pay Phone Refurbished and Modified This phone is in very good condition as it was refurbished sometime after being removed from service. Along with the refurbishment, some modifications were made to the phone. The G3 handset was replaced with a separate transmitter and receiver setup, and the switch hook was changed to accommodate that. The transmitter has a stamped Northern Electric transmitter cup. The coin door appears to be a plate rather than a door, as it does not match any known Northern Electric coin doors, and the lock spins and does not seem to operate any mechanism. The entire unit was repainted, and in the process the identification stamps were covered over. The stamp on the back plate of the phone is just visible in some light, and appears to read 233H. The top card appears to be a handmade addition, and is bolted to the top of the mechanics unit. There are two keys provided with the phone, however we are unsure of their use. The phone does appear to be intact internally, however some of the contacts have overspray from the repainting. The item is untested and being sold as is. Please see photos to help assess condition.
