Shofars created by the Bar-Sheshet and Ribak families are highly prized for their excellent workmanship. They reflect the epic history of the Jewish people traveling throughout the diaspora before finally returning home to Israel. The Bar-Sheshet family began making shofars in 14th century Spain, later in Morocco and finally in modern day they are made in Haifa. The Ribak family began making shofars in their native Poland and they later became the first shofar makers in the "first Hebrew city" of Tel Aviv.
