Description: Olds Copy of Schilke Flugel horn Silver Super Star 1974The Horn is silver, or silver plated not sure.The Schilke flugelhorn was copied by F.E. Olds & Son, right down to the hexagonal valve buttons and caps, in the Olds Superstar model flugelhorn, an even more interesting horn. Perhaps not coincidently, it was released by Olds. The Schilke produced maybe 125 total flugel horns and many were different from each other. Very rare and collectable as is this Olds.The bell measures 5 13/16” in diameter. The horn is 16 ¾” length.Serial number 887766 which I believe date this to 1974.While I am not a not a horn specialist. I can tell you the values move fast and freely and the tuning valves as well. All valves were oiled, and this horn is in excellent condition and looks it weas never played. Or not played much at all. There are no dents and only one tiny ding (shown in one of the pictures) I could find on the horn, and it is in collectable condition and ready to play condition.I was told it is very rare and possibly a Custom Crafted protype. I do see Schilke flugel horns that look exactly like this one. Please feel free to comment on this horn and I will post comments.
