Description: Original 1892 antique color lithographed map of Wyoming, printed more than 130 years ago. The map names 13 counties and labels the Overland Mail Route and the North Platte Wagon Road. It locates the Coal Basin, Yellowstone National Park, Big Horn Mountains, the Union Pacific Railroad, and numerous ranches, forts, towns, and natural features. Among the named places on the map are Antelope Spring Ranch, Chugwater, Sundance, Camp Bradley, Laramie, Independence Rock, Cheyenne, Fort Casper, Bridger's Pass, Rawlins, Powder River, Cokeville, Green River, Rawhide Peak, and Fort Russell, built by the U.S. Army in 1867 to protect Union Pacific Railroad workers and today the Francis E. Warren Air Force Base. This map was published by Rand McNally & Company, Chicago in 1892. It is an original, authentic antique map, not a reproduction or modern reprint, and it is fully guaranteed to be genuine. The image area measures 24.5 x 31.4 cm [9½" x 12½"]. Topography is drawn in relief, and longitude is measured from Greenwich and Washington. Condition: It is in very good condition, with a narrow margin at the lower edge and no marks, rips, or tears. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. The map would make a very handsome display in your den or office. It would also make a perfect gift, and we'll include our helpful framing tips for your reference, along with a photocopy of the dated title page from the book in which it was published..
