Description: I am not sure where to start with this rare and unique classic original map publication from 1910. It offers so much, it is a true one-of-a-kind. First it is published by the Kenyon Company Map Makers of Des Moines, Iowa (1874-1930). It was created as a subscription enticement for 20th Century Farmer Magazine. I cannot say how many were printed or if any others have survived for 114 years. The overall sheet is 30" x 43.5".One side features a complex map of the United States with topography dated 1910, and then a split hemisphere World Time Zone map, dated 1907, stating the time in specific cities in every time zone when it is 12 noon in Washington D C. It also includes small maps of Alaska and the Yukon Territory, as well as Central America featuring the Panama Canal. THEN THE EXTRAS. Photographs of major world leaders and flags of major countries. Photograps of the White House, Senate Bldg., & House of Representatives. It also includes statistics on the Principal Vessels of our U S Navy and other Navies of the world and even the general Election results by state for 1900-1904 & 1908.Side two offers an equal abundance. A primary map of Missouri with populations based on the 1910 census, and a very detailed topographical relief map of the under construction Panama Canal. The write up of the Canal construction mentions an estimated completion in 1915, and we know it was actually completed in 1914, so that pins publication down to a window of 1910 to 1913, or logically 1911 because it doesn't include the 1912 general Election results. Side two offers additional unique extras. It includes the portraits and full signatures of all 22 presidents to date. It has a chart on the principal farm crops of the United States, and then another chart on Simple Interest and Standard weights.I feel so fortunate to have found this century+ old heartland treasure right here in Kansas City and my living estate sale is all about finding appreciative new homes for my life's collection. I am truly stumped on the appropriate value for this unique piece so I am affixing a price that makes me think I may be too high, or too low, then including my usual protective free shipping, a worthy charity donation, and the "BEST OFFER" listing format to consider all fair and knowledgeable buyer offers.
