Description: Up for auction is an original 8x10 black and white photo of a ladder built for Willimantic Connecticut. Located in Windham, Connecticut, United States and is known as "Thread City" for the American Thread Company's mills along the Willimantic River, it was a center of the textile industry in the 19th century. The Maxim Motor Company (NOT Maxium, as incorrectly referred to) built fire apparatus in Middleborough from 1914-1989 on their own custom chassis as well as Chevrolet, Chevy, GMC, Ford, Dodge, International, REO, Diamond T and others. Known mostly through New England and the Midwest, they had loyal customers in the south and west coast also. These are original Kodak prints that were taken of the apparatus by Maxim photographers before leaving the factory or just prior to delivery to some lucky fire department. Sometimes there are multiple/duplicate images of the same photo, but Maxim made many prints to use for advertising and sales over the years. They would be great for a local historical society or fire museum. These photos are almost 50 years old and getting scarce. Printed on Velox paper. Due to age, there is a slight curl to the photos. However they do lay flat in an album. Photos will be mailed in envelope marked "DO NOT BEND" and rigid insert. Please allow 2-3 days for processing. I do NOT used eBay's Global shipping as there are hidden charges for buyers and sellers. Thank you! I do combine shipping on multiple items. Please send me a message before you check out and I will send an updated invoice. IF you checkout first, I can't refund the whole amount as eBay has already charged me for separate shipping. I lose money.
