Description: This is a listing for an original game boy. The outside and inside originally had lots of dirt and grime, but has been washed and cleaned appropriately either with water such as the case or with 99.9% isopropyl alcohol with the motherboard and buttons and membranes. Cosmetically you’ll notice that the lens is held on with tape. It is also missing a battery cover. Finally, the screen appears to have damage. On initial boot up, the black bar will come down suggesting that the system is working. With a game, inserted the Nintendo logo was scrambled and would not proceed past the logo. The cartridge port was cleaned heavily down to each and every pin. No luck. The continuity from each pin was tested to the CPU and almost every single pin connected however, one was noticed as having a disconnection. Note the copper film was unsoldered to check for corrosion and test. It has been soldered back down. In the picture, you’ll notice a jumper cable from the point of which the continuity ends and the trace lane is damaged thus jumping it straight to the pin it belongs to on the CPU. This brought the Nintendo logo to a normal un-pixelated state and the logo will then go off to try and load the game. This is where my electronic skills end, the games will not load, but they do load in other Game Boy systems. This could be the processor, ram, fuses, capacitors, or combination. I cannot vouch for the headphone jack, the link cable port, or the AC power. The contrast wheel, volume wheel, power switch and speaker seems to be okay. Please note this items description is heavy to help guide the next electronic hobbyist in the efforts to try and fix the device. Shipped carefully, sold as is for repair or parts.
