Artist information: Jan Bévort (1917-1996) Johannes Hubertus Hendrikus Bévort (Dutch artist) known as Jan Camprio - Bevort was born in Utrecht on November 30, 1917 and died in Schoorl on January 31, 1996. Jan Bévort was an impressionist artist and well known for his paintings with a palette knife, of seascapes, beach views, sailboats, and still life scenes. He was a pupil of Chris Agtenberg, and G. Nijenhuis at the Art Academy Artibus, and friend of painter Peter Brouwer. He also used the pseudonym 'Camprio' for landscape paintings of the south of Europe, including Spain and Italy. He was a member of the International Organization of Free Art. He is listed in Pieter A. Scheen's Lexicon Nederlandse Beeldende Kunstenaars (1750-1950).
