Description: Early WW2 Front seam m1 helmet made by the company with lower production numbers and more desirable Schlueter. Heat lot number is 330A The real special thing about this helmet is it’s original paint, it’s some of the best wwii paint I have seen on a helmet as of late. It allegedly has shrapnel damage but as they say. Buy the helmet not the story! But it appears to be something that went through the helmet from what I think is the inside to the outside. It also has a dent near the right side swivel bale and a decent dent next to the “shrapnel hole” the hole appears to have been there awhile as it’s rusted and looks to have been hammered back into place sort of (might be why there’s a dent inward next to it). But closely looking at the deformation on the edges does appear that something that was moving fast made the hole and it doesn’t look concentric like a bullet hole. Also it’s irregular so it doesn’t look like a pick went through it. Overall it’s a very nice helmet that’s sporting almost all of its original paint other than around the hole.
