During this time there were two versions of the legend plate.One version said Forward and Reverse, the later version was changed to read Low and High, then the final version in 1996 became Low Range and High Range. This can be confusing so I will explain: Spindle clockwise rotation as viewed from the top of the head is considered forward. The machine has High range, Neutral and Low range via a gear selection handle on the right side of the head. When in High Range gear selection and the switch is in the High Range position, the spindle will be rotating forward or clockwise.
