Description: Buy this print and for your Christmas present, I will give you a print of your choice worth $65.00 for free for being a good Boy. Merry Christmas! Tell me what you want! This is the famous P-51D flown by Mustang Ace, Bud Anderson. Bud was a "Triple Ace" with fifteen aerial victories during the last part of the war. All of his fellow pilots thought of him as a real aerial warrior. I have a great story; first, I got to spend a lot of time with Bud. Bud was not just an Ace; anyone could be an Ace, but Bud was a genius. He came up with ideas that his commanding officers were impressed with. Bud rose in the ranks REALLY fast mostly because many American pilots were being shot down! Bud came up with an amazing idea. He had flown many missions as "Bomber Escort." After losing SO many bombers and THOUSANDS of American airmen Bud told his Commanding Officer to let his fighters do something different. Mind you...this idea was brand new. Bud and the fighters flew in formation in front of the bombers. The fighters flew in a formation like the bombers. The German radar thought that the first wave of aircraft was in fact bombers. They were not. When the German attacked the American bombers, they found themselves in the middle of several hundred MUSTANGS! The American fighters tore Holy Hell out of the Germans. This was a mission where Bud shot down three enemy fighters! The American bomber formations came and went almost unmolested. It was a wonderful move! Almost NO American bombers were lost or not as many as they had in the past. Read all you can about Bud Anderson. The campaign to bomb Germany was almost lost by the Americans. It was pilots like Bud who came up with ideas that won the war! Bud also flew F-105 fighter-bombers during the Vietnam War! During WWII, Bud flew a whopping 116 missions totaling 480 combat hours! And then he flew super-fast Jet Bombers in Vietnam?! This man is an American Hero! Hang this autographed artwork on your wall with a copy of my autographed Memphis Belle! It was the B-17 and the Mustang that won the war! Bud Anderson was decorated 25 times. He earned the Legion of Merit with one Oak Leaf Cluster. Distinguished Flying Cross with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters. The Bronze Star. The Air Medal with 15 Oak Leaf Clusters. The French Croix de Guerre, and many more! Enjoy the story under the artwork. Print size is 12x18" Published on heavy museum paper.
