Description: Palmer Power Pad PDI 06 The PDI06 is a power attenuator for live use. The device is connected between the amplifier output and the loudspeaker box. It makes it possible to exploit the popular power amplifier distortion of tube amplifiers, but at the same time the associated high volume can be reduced. The volume can be reduced in 6 steps from 100% to 18% to suit practical stage and rehearsal room conditions. A further stage mutes the loudspeaker completely, the PDI06 then works as a LOAD-BOX and absorbs the complete power supplied by the amplifier. This mode of operation is useful if, for example, you want to play directly into the mixer via an existing line output of the amplifier, which has a speaker emulation, and volume in the recording room is undesirable. The device has an input for the loudspeaker signal from the amplifier and two outputs for connecting loudspeakers. The total impedance of the loudspeakers must correspond to the value specified on the PDI06. Example: a PDI06 specified for 8 ohms can accommodate one 8 ohm cabinet or two 16 ohm cabinets on its outputs. The output of the (tube) amplifier is also set to 8 ohms.
