Description: This rare medal is one of 50 in Franklin Mint's "OFFICIAL HISTORY OF THE OLYMPIC GAMES" Series. The set was issued from 1976 to 1980 under the direction of the International Olympic Committee to commemorate the greatest moments in the modern Olympic games beginning in 1896.The obverse features Ray Ewry (USA), master of the jump without momentum, holder of ten gold medals in three Olympics.The reverse features a laurel wreath with the Olympic Rings symbol and information on the featured athlete inscribed in French. "Ray Ewry gagna trois medailles d'or au cours d'une seule journee aux Jeux de Paris en 1900."Only 5,382 silver copies of this medal were issued.Weight: 20 gramsDiameter: 40 mmThickness: 3 mmThe original storage capsule is included.
