He is a world-renowned expert in personality and has published over 80 scientific articles covering a wide range of social and applied topics such as personality, human intelligence and genius, human performance, musical preferences, creativity, leadership, and most prominently, individual differences in personality. He also makes frequent appearances in the media (especially UK TV) to provide psychological expertise on these issues. He serves on the editorial board of the APA Division 10 journal Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts, and is past recipient of Division 10s Berlyne Award for Early Career Research. His research has been published in such journals as Journal of Research in Personality, Learning and Individual Differences, Educational Psychology, Personality and Individual Differences, Creativity Research Journal, Advances in Psychological Research, Journal of Social Psychology, and Psychological Science. He has authored, co-authored, or co-edited numerous books.
