Description: PFM Toby HO Brass CROWN DM&IR M-4 2-8-8-4, 1960 1 of Only 25 Made Rare! #11 of 25. This engine has both engines powered as do all of the 1960 runs, and with the Pittman DC-71b motor. This has the incorrect spoked drivers as made by Toby. There were upgraded black Baldwin disc driver sets offered by PFM, but these are very rare. All 1960 runs that I have seen have the black spoked drivers, excepting the 1960 DM&IR M-4 shown in Volume 2 of The Art of Brass. The 1960 run M-4s have better castings and a formed ash pan. This engine also has all of the original paperwork and the 1960 box with a square of the Crown insignia pasted into the end of the box with a typewritten description pasted below. These engines were offered by both PFM and Fulgarex. Fulgarex listed these in their 1962 catalog for $900.
