This is the FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING. I acquired this book from a private estate. I found if safely tucked away on a library bookshelf where it had been for decades. ABOUT THIS BOOK: The story unfolds in the backdrop of the American War of Independence, focusing on the life and experiences of Captain Philip Winwood, as recounted by his childhood friend, Herbert Russell, who offers a unique perspective as both a rival in love and an enemy in war. CONDITION: This book is complete and intact, in very good-plus condition as evidenced by the photos. The front cover is nicely decorated in gold gilt. The covers are in very good-plus condition with very light age-expected wear. The inside covers are in very good condition, with minimal cracking and separation present at the hinges, both boards are firmly attached to the binding. There is a personal library sticker from the original owner affixed to the front inside endpaper. The pages are in very good to very good-plus condition, the pages are crisp, all pages are tight to the binding. The decorated spine is in very good condition with some tanning from sunlight exposure while sitting on a library shelf, also some light wear. The gold gilt lettering is easily read. See Photos.
