Description: Up for sale is the absolute knockout hybrid PHILODENDRON 'GLORIOUS' P. gloriousum x melanochrysum Last 4 photos are of the ACTUAL PLANT for Sale Philodendron 'Glorious' is an awesome hybrid of two incredible plants: Philodendron gloriousum (big round velvety leaves- vigourous growth and terrestrail habit) and Philodendron melanochrysum (amazingly velvety leaves- uber tropical look and climbing habit) Even though this cross was originally done back in the 1970's by Keith Henderson of Cairns, it is still quite uncommon to find in collections, especially in the States.. even though it is a JOY to grow! Like many hybrid plants, it is has that hybrid-vigor. I've found that it grows much faster than melanochrysum, and gets large leaves quickly. It has the dependability of P. gloriousum with the ability to CLIMB. In fact, that's kinda optional, because it will gladly crawl along the ground like Gloriousum, but if you train it to a support, it will attach and climb like melanochrysum. I absolutely LOVE this Philodendron! We have grown it in Central Florida, with temps down to the mid 40's with no issues. In the warm months, it really takes off. It makes for an EXCELLENT indoor plant, with direct morning light and bright indirect light after that.
