In January of 2011, a Pokemon distribution event began around the world which would trigger a special in-game event when the distributed Pokemon were transferred up to Pokemon Black and White. In this event, gamers could visit their local game store and be given a special shiny Raikou, Entei and/or Suicune depending on which week they went to the retailers’. This distribution event was possible due to the Pokemon Distribution Cartridge given to retailers, which during the time of the event, would distribute the special legendary beasts to those who partook in said event. The Raikou, Entei and Suicune distributed, when transferred to Pokemon Black and White, are able to trigger a special event when taken to Lostlorn Forest, where you will then encounter and catch a Zoroark. Without having one of the specific Raikou, Entei or Suicune distributed from this cartridge, there is no way to trigger the Zoroark event in question. Unfortunately, once the event was finished, the distribution cartridges were to be sent back to Nintendo and promptly destroyed. However, some retailers never actually sent the cartridges back, and nor did Nintendo ever get back to them on why the cartridges weren’t back where they should be. The first method described will be for the Generation 4 games, while the second method is an alternate method of distribution for Generation 4 and also the primary distribution method for Generation 5. For the Generation 4 games (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver), there are one of two ways I can send you the event Pokemon. The first method is, of course, directly distributing the Shiny Legendary Beasts to the game(s) you send in via Mystery Gift. If sending in Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and/or Platinum, the Mystery Gift menu must be unlocked. If you have not reached Jubilife City and have not unlocked Mystery Gift, you will be unable to participate in this distribution service. For those who have reached Jubilife City (which you likely have since you go there even before the first gym badge) and do not have Mystery Gift unlocked, you can unlock it like so: On the 3rd Floor of the Jubilife TV Station, you will find this couple. The second method I can do for this service, which is also the method I’ll use if sending in Pokemon Black, White, Black 2 and/or White 2, is for me to distribute the Mystery Gifts to my own copy of a Generation 4 Pokemon game, claim the three legendary beasts, transfer them to my own Generation 5 game if you want them on a Generation 5 game instead of Generation 4, and then trade the three event Pokemon over to the game you mailed in. Now, you may likely be asking “why would I ever consider this method over the other?” Well, there’s actually a handful of reasons as to why you might want this. For one, if you’re full on Wonder Cards and don’t want to delete any for the three’s Wonder Cards, then I can trade you over the three instead of having to replace any Wonder Cards. Another reason would be if you have already had any of the three legendary beasts distributed to your game in the past and no longer have access to them; Mystery Gifts can only be redeemed once, so if you want to get any of the Mystery Gift Pokemon again, you’ll need to trade them over. Another reason is if you want multiple of the same event Pokemon on one cartridge for any reason (see bonuses section for more information). Please be aware this method would require you capturing three Pokemon for use as trade fodder. Both methods have their own reasons for being done, but I assume it’s safe to bet most people would rather go with method one for obvious reasons in the case of mailing in a Generation 4 game. While there are other methods to receive the shiny legendary beasts in Generation 5 such as transferring the three directly to your own game or the Relocator for the original Black and White, trading them over as described makes the process substantially easier on my end, as it results in the legendary beasts being able to be received at nearly any point in the game; the Transfer Lab is locked to post-game, and the Relocator is locked to Castelia City and is kind of a cumbersome method. There is also a decent chance the Relocator may transfer additional things from my personal save off of my game and onto yours, which I would rather not happen. To activate the Zoroark encounter in Pokemon Black and White, take any of the three shiny legendary beasts to the trailer found in Lostlorn Forest (which in of itself is found in Route 16), a woman will walk out of it and attack you. A battle will then begin and you’ll suddenly be battling one of the three legendary beasts, but if you attack it or catch it, you’ll quickly learn it’s actually a Zoroark using illusion. If sending in Pokemon Black 2 and/or White 2 specifically, you will be unable to access the Zorua event as previously mentioned. This is very likely due to N giving you a Zorua in the game’s story, making the event to get a Zorua unnecessary. With that said, if you still want any of the Shiny Legendary Beasts in Black 2 and/or White 2, I’d be happy to still distribute one for you. Please make sure you’re aware you cannot get the Zorua when sending in Black 2 and/or White 2; I’d really hate for you to go in thinking the event is still in the game. Additionally, in order to be able to trade in both BW and B2W2, you need to have received the C-Gear and also beaten the first gym, so make sure you have this done if you are looking to receive the legendary beasts. Also, if you somehow do not meet the requirements mentioned above to receive the service but send in your cartridge believing you do meet them, I will unfortunately refund you and send your cartridge(s) back, though I cannot refund shipping. Naturally some of them require a bit of a different process, such as if you want the Oak’s Letter distribution service performed on a Japanese copy of Platinum, I would instead distribute the authentic Japanese Wonder Card instead of the English one since it wouldn’t work properly, but the end result would still be the same ans result in you receiving an authentic Oak’s Letter. “Do I have to send in my system along with the game?”In regards to cartridges being played on GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS, no - those cartridges’ save files are stored within the cartridges themselves, rather than something like the Nintendo Switch save files, which are stored on the system itself regardless of if playing a game physically or digitally. For non-cartridge/digital games however, most of which in this case refer to the 3DS (eShop, Virtual Console), then yes, you would need to send in your entire system. “Can you transfer this Pokemon up to a different generation and trade/transfer it from there?”All events shown are technically compatible with all future generations unless they’re a Ticket/Item distribution service like the Eon Ticket or are specifically mentioned to not transfer up (to Bank and Home), so if you want a Generation 3 WishMaker Jirachi in Pokemon Black 2 for example, let me know and we can discuss this. I’m aware that many will want me to transfer these up into Bank and Home for trading purposes, and yes, I can go ahead and do that too if you so wish.
