Description: This Porquier-Beau plate features what I think are Geraniums. The Porquier-Beau manufacture was founded by Alfred Beau when the largest Quimper faiencerie, HB Henriot Quimper, would not allow him to sign his work. His pieces are considered the apogee of Quimper faience by most collectors. This hand painted scalloped plate is a good illustration why. The plate carries the first Porquier-Beau mark which dates it to 1875 to 1903. The plate measures 8 1/2” in diameter. The condition is excellent for a faience piece of this age with minor ware (see photographs).
