Description: Recently we were fortunate enough to purchase a collection of approximately 65 golf flags from the family of a former professional golfer and teaching pro who grew up in Denver, Colorado. He started to play at the age of 9 at the celebrated Cherry Hills Country Club under the instruction of Bill Majors. In his early twenties he took lessons from Brian Smith, a professional golfer and instructor. After two years with Brian, the former owner and collector of the flags attended the PGA Tour Golf Academy for two years where he graduated and obtained his Professional Golfer’s Diploma. He also became a Class A Golf professional in 1996. During his lifetime he worked as an instructor at Cherry Hills, NIKE and other companies before retiring to Pinehurst, NC. He was a member of The USGA, The PGA, Pinehurst Country Club and other clubs around the US. Sadly, he died unexpectedly at the age of 61 in 2021 but his love of golf allowed him to play, instruct, travel and collect throughout the US and worldwide for many years. The former owner also collected ball marker/poker chips, clubs, balls and an array of other golf collectibles from his travels. Please check back for other items from this collection.
