Description: Pair of Early 19th Century American Portraits on canvas of a couple - Henry & Lydia Flint of Cherry Valley, New York. Purchased from prominent Santa Monica estate located in California. Each has legible inscriptions on the back of the canvas written in pencil. Portrait of Henry has since been repaired and hole is no longer visible - see 2nd photo. In most likely original plaster and gilt frames. (There is noticeable damage on bottom of each frame. Not in the best condition) Heavy craquelure throughout each piece that is visible via the photos provided. Paint however seems to be stable with no major peeling. Ample family history and genealogy is online about the Flints and their predecessors + descendants. (Screenshot of Lydia Flints brief info is provided in last photo) 37x31 are the overall measurements for each piece.
