Description: NOTICE: there is widespread misinformation on the internet about this componentNOTICE: there is widespread misinformation on the internet about this componentNOTICE: there is widespread misinformation on the internet about this componentNotice: this is not a 16.8 ohm resistorNotice: this is not a 16.2 ohm resistorThis is the correct resistor for the manufacturer specification NOTICE: as an item that is indisputably measurable as GOOD before shipment and will immediately FAIL with burn marks if you do not take appropriate precautions before installing, it is a CONSUMABLE item and returns are not accepted under any circumstance. The resistor this replaces comes labelled as many different things in most PlayStation 4 Power Supplies as from 200ER and newer (up to the newest Pro and newest Slim models) as well as the N15 N16 N17 variants I've seen it labelled as R1, R5, R111, and wouldn't be surprised if there are more labels for it. The resistor this replaces is of a tan / beige / cream / brown color, and has 5 stripes that calculate as 16.8 ohms but that value of resistor cannot be found anywhere of all the internet. Furthermore you will find many people recommending 16.2 ohm resistors because it is the closest value that can be ordered, and yes 16.2 ohm will work however 16.2 is NOT the correct value If you pull up the spec sheet for the mosfet that the resistor goes to, you will see that the mosfet expects a resistor ahead of it with a value of 0.168 ohms Furthermore, if you pull the resistor out of a GOOD WORKING unit and measure it, you will notice the resistance is not only MUCH LOWER than 16.8 ohms but in fact will be too low of resistance for your meter to determine There is a mountain of evidence to suggest that the color codes on manufacturer original resistors is WRONG There is ZERO evidence to suggest that 16.2 or 16.8 ohm is correct, other than the WRONG color codes Sony printed on the originals. 0.168 cannot be found online, but there is 0.16ohm and that is what is provided here. 16.2 ohm resistors will work but as a result of the higher resistance, they will run MUCH hotter and much more likely to blow under normal usage Before installing any replacement resistor, you should check ALL mosfets for bad values. If you do not know what a bad value for mosfets is, DO NOT ORDERIf the mosfet is bad, check pads AFTER removing mosfetIf pads test bad after mosfet removed, check PFC 1612 chip DAP041 chip DAP049 chip Before installing any replacement resistor, check for bad Diode or SMD resistor near the PFC chip 1612If you do not know how to identify a bad diode DO NOT ORDERIf you do not know how to identify a bad resistor DO NOT ORDERIf either diode or SMD resistor by PFC chip is bad, the chip is also bad.If you do not replace mosfet before resistor, you will blow the new resistor. If you do not replace diode / SMD resistor / PFC chip, you will blow new resistor AND possibly mosfet Due to low value, these have low priority for shipping speed. I will do my very best to get them shipped as fast as possible. but may take up to 3 business days to begin motion If you decide not to repair your power supply(ies) I may be interested in buying them from you through eBay but note that their value is LOW
